RJ Flynn is the pseudonym of Northumberland based writer Rob Flynn.

​

He is the author of more than a dozen plays across various genres and is the Artistic Director of Tideline Runners. His play The Words In The Wires was listed as #1 Show of 2013 in The Berwickshire News, Berwick Advertiser and Northumberland Gazette. The Smallest Story Ever Told was selected to be a part of Festival45 at The Kings Head Theatre in London with a regional and national tour scheduled to begin in 2021.

When he is not writing, Flynn is a musician and song-writer. From 1999-2010, he was a founding member of the highly lauded post hardcore band Won Mississippi who released three albums (including the much celebrated '...Welcomes Careful Drivers' and "Natives') Following that band's demise, he began performing solo work under the stage-name Secret Gang Handshakes before going on to form a new band Glass Family Saga (named after the family in JD Salinger's novels). He is currently a mentor with Inspired: The Creative School For Young Musicians alongside Iain Petrie and Tamsin Davidson

His latest play is The Smallest Story will receive its premier at Duns Playfest before going on a regional tour of the North of England and the Scottish Borders.

He lives by the river Tweed with his husband Nicholas, son Johan and their rabbit Bjorn
