Inspired by the true story of the tabloid scandal surrounding Lord Lambton and the sex worker Norma Levy. Separated into two acts of 'He Said' and 'She Said'. Act one tells Lambton's story as a political satire set in the fallout of the breaking scandal. Act 2 is a social comedy-drama that follows Levy's exile and struggles to find a life when the world has poured scorn and shame upon her.

The Smallest Story

“A brave and beautiful piece of work that deserves our applause.”

S Robinson - The Guardian

“ A ‘comedy-drama about how to survive grief’ [that] displays everything that is so joyous about living… This is truly a remarkable new work from RJ Flynn.”

***** Francesca Mepham - Carn’s Theatre Passion

Sometimes it is the smallest stories which can pack the largest emotional punch. In a single hour I laughed and shed a tear and really felt a part of the family’s drama. It truly feels like it is a story told from the heart. Excellent.”

**** Rachael Simmons - Everything Theatre

"From horrifying to hilarious… playing arpeggios with the audience’s emotions, interspersed with sudden flashes of utter genius, where they combine all the notes into one great mis-matched chord”.

The Berwick Advertiser

“The Smallest Story Ever Told packed a mighty punch…  the play made you grateful for health, happiness and memories.”

***** Emma K Robertson - Carn’s Theatre Passion

“One of the most beautiful plays I have ever seen. Just see it.”

 D Sanders - Load Theatre

Tideline Runners were formed in July 2011 by playwright RJ Flynn and Theatre Director Miles Gregory (Now of Pop Up Globe, NZ). Our aim is to deliver professional quality theatrical events using a mixture of professional and non-professional performers to provide a learning and up-skilling environment.

We have worked in partnership with The Maltings Theatre in Berwick upon Tweed producing one or two new writing works each year.

Our first production was 'Human Interest Stories' that opened in February 2012 and our latest will be 'THE HONOURABLE GENTLEMAN' in 2024 which will premiere in partnership with The Maltings Theatre at THE BLACK & GOLD in Berwick upon Tweed  before embarking on a regional tour.
